Contact usRumiForm Energy is a liquid dietary feed to use in case of ketosis. It is composed of yeast cell walls, yeast extracts, sorbitol and propylene glycol and supports dairy cattle in the early stages of lactation by improving their energy balance and regulating fat mobilization. This is necessary for better and faster start-up of milk production. Benefits of RumiForm Energy:
Challenge During early lactation, dairy cows often experience a negative energy balance because their energy needs for milk production rise rapidly while their ability to consume enough feed is limited. This imbalance causes the cows to mobilize fat reserves, releasing significant amounts of non-esterified fatty acids (NEFAs) into the bloodstream. Normally, the liver converts NEFAs into triglycerides, which are then transported as lipoproteins (combinations of fats and proteins) to various organs, such as the udder, for milk production.
However, when NEFA levels exceed the liver’s processing capacity, they are only partially oxidized, leading to the formation of ketone bodies. Elevated ketone levels in milk, urine, and blood are linked to adverse effects, including reduced milk yield, poor reproductive performance, and an increased risk of peripartum diseases such as displaced abomasum, mastitis, uterine infections, and retained placenta.
Cows with ketosis require a temporary boost to prevent excessive fat mobilization.
Solution RumiForm Energy is a liquid dietary feed containing yeast cell walls, yeast extracts, sorbitol and propylene glycol. It supports the energy requirements of dairy cattle in early lactation, helping to reduce fat mobilization and thereby lowering ketone body formation. This promotes a smooth start to lactation and contributes to improved health and performance in dairy cattle.
Dosage Administer 500 ml 2 days before and 1 day after calving.

Sorbitol Properties
Sorbitol, a sugar alcohol, offers several health benefits for dairy cattle:
Energy source: Sorbitol serves as an alternative energy source for dairy cattle, providing readily available energy that can help reduce energy deficiencies, particularly in animals with ketosis. Its slow absorption and metabolism help maintain stable blood sugar levels, which supports overall animal health and performance.
Liver health: Sorbitol supports liver function, which is crucial for dairy cattle, especially during periods of high production when the liver is under extra stress due to the metabolism of fats and proteins. Enhanced liver function can improve metabolic efficiency and overall health.
Enhanced feed intake: By improving the palatability of feed, sorbitol can encourage better feed intake in cattle.
Immune system support: Sorbitol supports the immune system. Cows with a strong immune system recover faster when problems occur.
Yeast cell walls yeast extracts Properties of MOS (Mannan-oligosacchariden) and Beta-glucans
Enhanced immunity: MOS and beta-glucans support the immune system, increasing the animals’ resistance to diseases and infections.
Propylene glycol Properties Propylene glycol is metabolized in the liver into glucose, leading to an increase in blood glucose levels. This rise triggers the release of insulin, a hormone that helps regulate blood sugar levels. Elevated insulin production enhances the efficiency of glucose uptake by cells, allowing them to utilize glucose for energy more effectively. As a result, the body’s reliance on fat breakdown for energy decreases, which directly lowers the levels of non-esterified fatty acids (NEFAs) and ketones in the bloodstream. Additionally, propylene glycol may reduce the risk of abomasal displacement, particularly in cases of subclinical ketosis, and supports a healthy rumen flora, crucial for optimal digestion and nutrient absorption.
